CSCL SATURN

The CSCL Saturn (IMO: 9467299, Port of Registry: Hong Kong) is one of eight container carriers of its kind ordered by CSCL. The vessel is 366 meters long, 51 meters wide and has a teu capacity of 14,000. She was delivered in 2011 by Samsung Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries, Korea and is propelled by a 72,000 KW HSD Engine. She is deployed on China Shipping's AEX-7 loop connecting Asia and Europe. Some of the Saturn's sisters are: CSCL Star, CSCL Jupiter, CSCL Mars and CSCL Venus.

The CSCL Mars arrived last night at the Port of Rotterdam from Suez. She is currently berthed at the Euromax Terminal.

ORANGE STAR

Orange StarJuice tanker Orange Star (IMO: 9564384, Port of Registry: Monrovia, Liberia) is 190 meters long and 32 meters wide, has a deadweight tonnage of 37,000 and a payload of 32,000 m3 with 12 juice tanks of 2000 m3 and 2 tanks of 4000 m3. She is the replacement vessel for the previous Orange Star which was in service from 1975 to 2010 and visited the port of Rotterdam many times. The MAN B&W 6S50 MC-C7 main engine, made by Brodosplit Diesel Engines Factory Ltd gives the vessel an operating speed of 15 knots. She was delivered in 2010 from Brodosplit Shipyard, Croatia for her owner Atlanship S.A., Switzerland.

The Orange Star arrived last night at the Continental Juice terminal, Rotterdam.

CMA CGM CHRISTOPH COLOMB

CMA CGM Christophe ColombToday's Ship of the Day is the CMA CGM Christophe Colomb (IMO: 9453559, Port of Registry: Marseille, France). The Christophe Colomb is currently the largest vessel in CMA CGM's fleet with a maximum teu capacity of 13,344. The vessel is 365 meters long and 51 meters wide. She was built in 2009 by Daewoo Heavy Industries, Korea. The vessel's design is designed with the superstructure located midships. This design ensures for better stability and lower trim for higher speed, when the ship is fully loaded. The Christophe Colomb will have seven sisterships, amongst which are the CMA CGM Amerigo Vespucci and CMA CGM Corte Real. She is deployed in CMA CGM's FAL-5 loop connecting China and Europe.

The CMA CGM Christophe Colomb is scheduled to arrive this afternoon at the ECT Delta terminal, Rotterdam with the last port of call at Zeebrugge.
